snow pictures

These pictures were taken on Saturday January,30. We had a snow party at my sisters house with hot chocolate, a snow man contest between the adults and kids (the kids won with their bikini girl snowman) and smores cooked over a fire. My sister also harnessed her Doberman Robin, who pulled my two daughters around in the sled. It was a great way to spend the day out in the snow!!

Pampa Texas

We live in Pampa Texas right outside the city limits - my husband and boys made this superb snowman for us this afternoon! He looks to me like he is ready to work! SO nice to see my kids playing in the snow today!

Wiener Dog Alert

As I wrote before, my sons and I periodically perform scientific experiments. This is especially true
when it comes to wintery weather and snow. We began running snow density tests last March of
2009 when we got that good snow. The idea is to see how far our family wiener dog would sink
down into a good 3 to 4 foot snow drift. We hypothesized that the less dense the snow is, the
farther the dog would sink. Last year when we first conducted the test, my wife didn't know we
were using her dapple dachshund in this manner, but this year she found out. Yeah, my youngest
son and myself are in the "dog house"! The pictures I have sent are of my youngest son, Garrett Dorman
dropping, Sassy the wiener dog. She was a very willing participant and I think we have her paw print on
a waiver form somewhere around here.
Oh, if you are wondering where this took place, we live about a mile and a half west of News Channel
10, out in Rolling Hills.

Me and Mini-Me

The snow was perfect to build snow creations. Since trees are treasured here, I created the tree-hugging mini-me of me. Hope you can tell who is whom.

Love your Newschannel 10 cast of characters. I can tell Dopler Dave is enjoying this newest snow event. Tell him greetings from the USDA-ARS lab in Bushland where his son, Luke, worked last summer.

More Snow Photos from Dalhart

We had snow drifts as deep as 36 inches in our back yard. We were out driving around town on Friday and I snapped a few photos. I could not believe the massive snow pile at the shopping center.
