1957 Snow Picture

My father, Bazil Anderson, in the snow storm of 1957. Location is north of Dimmitt about 6 miles in Castro County. I had just turned 7 and we had gone down for the weekend from Panhandle to visit my Dad's brother's family the JD Anderson who lived on a farm. We got snowed in, and of course all of us cousins loved it. My grandparents lived in a small trailer on the farm and my Dad and Uncle J had to dig them out. Dad helped check on all the farm animals. This is in front of the chicken house with barns in the background. The snow was at least 6 to 8 feet deep. I remember building a snow fort and playing in the snow. I'm staying home today and scrapbooking this picture and remembering my Dad, he was a handsome fellow and a very loving father.
